local emergency contacts

As the winter storm is starting to hit large parts of our area, please be smart! From a couple different sources, I have read anything from 5 to 10 inches of snow. But who really knows, right?

That being said, if you must be out during this event, please consider taking it slow and being cautious. Always be mindful of the road conditions in the city.

I have been receiving frequent updates from our City of Lynchburg, Virginia Government regarding road prep, weather forecasts, transportation services, and more. They do a good job of promoting those updates on their social media outlets, and you can find them here.

This storm, like others, may produce power or other utility outages or other issues. So, here are several links that could be useful in the event the weather does knock out power to your home or business.

Appalachian Power: 1-800-956-4237.
