Lynchburg, VA — In response to Peter Alexander filing a motion to nonsuit, thus putting an end his challenge to Chris Faraldi’s victory in the June 18 Republican Primary for Lynchburg City’s Ward IV Councilmember, Chris Faraldi released the following statement:

Being elected to serve as the Council Member for Lynchburg’s Fourth Ward has been the greatest honor of my life. Being re-nominated to continue to serve in that role is the second greatest. I would like to thank the voters of Lynchburg’s Fourth Ward for putting their trust in me, and I look forward to continuing to prove why that trust is well placed! Let's win on November 5!

Election Attorney, Zachary Werrell, added:

As predicted during the first hearing on this matter, this case was resolved before trial. And, as stated after the first hearing on this matter, this lawsuit was a giant waste of time.

Within minutes of reading the complaint, it was obvious they were simply misinformed, confused themselves, or intentionally confusing the issue. The only reason public time and resources were wasted on this suit is because the cabal behind Mr. Alexander’s campaign simply could not or would not understand some rather basic data entries in the voter database.

My experience as a political consultant tells me this lawsuit was less about legitimate concerns over the election, and more a political hit job intended to waste my client’s money and time that could have been better spent winning the upcoming general election.

Mr. Alexander and the cabal who pushed him to file this suit should apologize to my client and donate to his campaign to make up for the legal bills he needlessly incurred.

Above all, Mr. Alexander and the cabal behind this suit should apologize to the people of Lynchburg for undermining their trust in the results of an election that was clearly legitimate.

The Faraldi campaign is now moving on to the November 5 General Election where he will seek re-election as the Republican Nominee for Ward IV.
